    Bought a new printer 4650 Hp Office Jet all in one series. Tech said after we gave him access to computer that it was the computer! Only one year old and had been working perfectly. We had printed about 10 pictures when it stopped working. He said he was going to connect us to a special tech that it was the drivers on our computer. It would only cost us $129.00, Don't have the money right now and thanked hem for their time. Somehow, it had gotten disconnected from wi-fi and my grandson found the problem.     My touchsmart desktop ,vista, crashed. After several days on the phone with teck support I was told I had to take it back to factory defaults. I lost 5 years of pictures. The computer is over 2 years old. Last year I purchased and extended warranty. I was told last week that I had no warranty. I purchases a one year so I could get it fixed but continued to fight for the extended one I purchased. I received recovery discs for 20.00 and tried to install them.     I purchased a HP notbook laptop computer and a year later it went out. I was in the middle of school and had to buy a new computer to finish. I called HP after i had finished and was told that my warranty was out. I explained that there was an OFFICIAL recall on the part that caused the computer to crash and why it had taken me so long to contact them but was told that i would have to pay 345.00 dollars to fix the part that they had the RECALL on because my waranty was out. his is so ridiculous that a company would issue a recall but you have to have a warranty for it to be upheld.   • Poor Warranty

    On December 12 I bought a Pavillion dm3 laptop. About a month later the left side of the LCD screen became unresponsive and showed some random patterns. I was told twice by HP that this was not covered under warranty, because it had to be caused by external forces on the screen. I am not aware of any dropping, pinching, bumping or other damage and there is no sign of physical damage anywhere on the computer.     Did you know that when asked to provide a credit card number as collatoral, HP's policy is that you can provide any credit card number even if it isn't yours? Well this just happened to me as I spoke to HP representatives in India. I own a Presario Laptop (still under warranty) and after a battery test, I was instructed to make contact with the company to obtain a replacement.     I purchased a Pavillion a year ago October. My computer crashed two weeks after the warranty. I called their tech support and was told I'd have to purchase a new hard drive. It took several phone calls. One call had so much noise in the background I could not hear what he was telling me. Called again (India)could not understand what he was saying nor could he understand me. Finally I was told to mail the old hard drive back and they would see what the problem was with the computer.     I purchased this unit from Quills Office Supply brand new for $499.00. One month after the purchase I've had one problem after another. Subsequently I was told to purchase an extended warranty from HP which I did. The problems continued.
